William Steven Levister, lovingly known as “Steve,” passed away on August 25, 2025, at the age of 59. Born on February 23, 1966, in Chester, South Carolina, Steve was the son of Vivian Peak (Austin) and the late Billy Levister, both of Chester.
Steve was truly one of a kind — unpredictable, strong-willed, and always wanting things his way. He carried himself with confidence and often believed he was the smartest person in the room, which only added to the colorful character that everyone knew him to be. A familiar face around town, Steve could often be found walking down the road, he was well known and well liked by many. He had a passion for life’s simple joys, whether cheering on his favorite NASCAR drivers, tuning into ghost hunting shows, or spending time at the gym. His loyal little dog, Kia, was his constant companion and held a very special place in his heart.
Though private about his personal life, Steve is survived by his beloved mother, Vivian Peak; his half-brother, Danny Huckabee; his children, Cheryl Levister, Trenton Windom, and Bryan Williams; and his grandchildren, Destinee, Hayden, Benjamin, Mackenzie, Catherine, Willow, Harper, and Eva.
He will be remembered for his big personality, his presence in the community, and the lasting impression he left on those who knew him.
