William Dean Erwin

Mr. William Dean Erwin, 39, of 4925 Jonesville Lockhart Highway Union SC, died Wednesday December 1st 2021 at Atrium Health in Shelby NC. Mr. Erwin was born June 21 1982 a son of Mrs. Vivian Jean Canupp of Union and Mr. Joe Kenneth Martin of Hickory Grove. Mr. Erwin was the Chairman of the Board for Union County Rescue Squad for over ten years, a member Search and Rescue for Union County Sheriffs Department, a member of Lockhart and Monarch Volunteer Fire Department, and a volunteer for Carolina Peaks to Piedmont.  Surviving in addition to his mother and father are his fiance' Stephanie K Lovelace and a daughter Katie Lovelace-Torres, four brothers Kenny Martin (Lori Halvorsen), Aaron Martin (Linda), Dean Erwin (Kim Knighton), Nelson Erwin, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 7th 2021 at 3pm at Lockhart Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Sam Baines officiating. Burial will follow at Lockhart Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 5-8pm at Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church. Serving as pallbearers will be representatives from Monarch Fire department, Lockhart Fire Department, City of Chester Police Department, Union County Sheriffs Office and Union County Fire and Rescue. The family is at the home. Lewis Funeral Home and Crematory has charge of the arrangements.
