Sara Elizabeth (Horne) Adams

Mrs. Sara Elizabeth “Chunk” Horne Adams, 79, of Jonesville, SC went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, surrounded by family. She was born in Union, SC on June 13, 1943 to the late Ottis and Mittie Horne Horne.

Mrs. Adams was the greatest mother, nanny, and friend. She impacted many lives and helped take care of many people. She loved the Lord and her family more than anything. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her heart and she kept them all when they were small. She taught them many things, but the most important were to love wholehearted, be kind, help others, and love God. Mrs. Adams also cared for other members of her family, and never left them without saying “I love you with all my heart”. She was kind hearted and had a very selfless nature. She was a member of Fairforest Baptist Church and served in the nursery, as well as on the host committee. She retired from Milliken Gillespie Plant in 1992.

She is survived by daughters, Dora Palka and fiancé, Joe McCoy, of Jonesville, SC, Tammy Pridemore and husband, Rickey, of Union, SC, and Ann Faucett and husband, Robbie, of Spartanburg, SC; sister, Jerline Burnett and husband, Harold, of Florida, and Patricia Harmon, whom she thought of as a sister; seven grandchildren, Nicole Tyler and husband, T.J., Timothy Adams and wife, Amanda, Megan and Claire Pridemore, Madison Grace, Sara Caroline, and Adams Robert Faucett; six great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Gabriel Tyler, Sara Belle Adams, Paizleigh Horne, Kaylie Starnes, and C.J. Weston; sister-in-law, Joyce Gault and husband, Tony; and many special nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Roy T. Adams, she was predeceased by a sister, Jeanette Fowler; brothers, John Henry Horne and Victor Eugene “Samson” Horne; son-in-law, Ted Palka.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 2:00PM at Fairforest Baptist Church, with Pastor Mark Truitt and Dr. Aubrey Calvert officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the church.

Pallbearers will include Andy Gault, Shannon Gault, John David Horne, Rod Horne, Adams Faucett, and Gabriel Tyler. The Ladies Sunday School Class, Bobby and Esther Dehart, and Rodney and Kathy Gallman, will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Tammy Pridemore.
