Roy Jones

LIFE PROFILE
On Saturday, March 31, 1945; Roy Jones was born to the late Hilliard
Jones Sr. and Annie Bell D. Jones. At an early age, Roy attended St.
Luke AME Zion church with his mother. He attended Union County
School and later relocated to New Jersey.
After many years in New Jersey, Roy returned home to South Carolina
and began working at JP Stevens and Renfro textile mills, both located
in Whitmire, SC; from which he retired.
Early on August 6, 2022, Roy answered the Heavenly call as his earthly
assignment was complete.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: James L.
(Bull) Jones, Dawkins Jones, and Charles Sims Sr. One sister: Martha R.
Jeter, one stepson: Kelsey Choice.
Roy leaves to cherish fond memories, a loving daughter; Kerri Harper,
one step-son, Kevin Choice, five step-daughters, Kim Choice-Scudder,
Karen Choice, Kathleen Choice, Kelly Choice and Korine Edwards, four
grandchildren: KaVon Choice, Terrell Choice, Qwanza Harper, and
Deonte Harper, 19 Step-Grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a
host of Step-great grandchildren ; one brother, Hillard Jones Jr.; four
sisters: Bertha J. Mobley, Clara Gaffney, Mary A. Byrd and Lou Jean
(Johnnie) Thomas and a special niece/caregiver, Miranda Jeter along
with host of other nieces and nephews, all of whom Roy loved dearly; as
well as, many other family and friends.
