Rosa Lee Hughes

Mrs. Rosa Lee Hughes, 95, widow of Mr. Roland Hughes Sr., of 1212 S. Pinckney Street died Tuesday October 31 2023 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home. Mrs. Hughes was born April 21 1928 a daughter of the late Landrum and Florence Suber Worthy. She was a member of Maple Ridge Baptist Church, and was a retired homemaker. She also had a great sense of humor and a smile so bright. Survivors include two sons Roland Hughes Jr. (Crystal), Charles Eugene Hughes (Tawanna), three daughters Rosetta Walton (Willie Mack), Polly Hall (Jerry), and Janie Hughes, two sisters Martha Beachum and Margaret Ann Worthy, twenty one grandchildren, twenty eight great grand children and a host of nieces nephews and friends. She was predeceased by three sons Earl Hughes, Robert Lee Hughes and Rufus Hughes, three brothers Johnnie Lee Thomas, Ben Worthy, David Worthy six sisters Louise Glenn, Jeanett Smith, Pauline Dawkins, Lettie Rogers, Floyd Richard, Mary McBeth a grand son Roland Hughes III and a great grand son Jermaine Hughes. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1pm at Maple Ridge Baptist Church. a viewing will be held Friday from 11-5pm at the funeral home. Lewis Funeral Home and Crematory has charge of the arrangements.
