Obituary
Mr. Robert Lee Hunter, Jr.
Mr. Robert Lee Hunter, Jr., affectionately known as “Bobby”, made his
transition to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, July 18, 2021, at his
residence in Woodruff, SC. Robert was born on December 9, 1948, to the
late Robert Lee Hunter, Sr., and Angie Peake Hunter in Union County, SC.
At an early age, Robert accepted Christ as his personal Savior.
Robert received his formal education at Sims High School in Union, SC,
where he graduated in 1967. He retired from SC Department of
Transportation (D.O.T.) where he gave 21 years of service. Robert truly
had a love for others and the outdoors.
Robert was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Hunter and Viola
Hunter Hughes; one brother-in-law, Jesse Hughes; one nephew, Anthony
A. Hunter.
His precious memory will be forever cherished by: his loving and devoted
wife, Thersa Harris Hunter, of the home; one daughter, Alexis Lejuan
(Terrence) Toney of Madison, AL; one son, Sherome Eric (Robyn) Rice of
Boiling Springs, S.C.; one step-son, Ron (Monica) Harris; two step-
daughters, Kristy (Stevie) Lida and Carolyn (Rick) Simmons; four sisters,
Sylvia (Tommy) Mitchell of Buffalo, S.C., Annie L. Hunter of Buffalo, S.C.,
Thelma Johnson of Spartanburg, S.C., and Linda L. Hunter of Monarch,
S.C.; two brothers, Kenneth Hunter of Union, S.C., and James Hunter of
Buffalo, S.C.; one aunt, Alice Hunter of Union, S.C.; four grandchildren,
Shawna L. Rice, Malik Jeter, LaShun Kershaw, and Sarah Toney; five step-
grandchildren, Di’Anna Lida, Mark Davis, Ally Bryant, Curtis Davis, and
Emma Simmons; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many more
relatives and friends
