Robert Gory

Obituary
Robert Lee Gory 75, of 409 Foster Street Union, SC, was the husband of Susie T. Gory, and the
son of the late Floyd Lee Gory Sr. and Jessie Mae Thomas Gory was born in Union, SC on
March 3, 1943. On February 11, 2019 he bid this earth farewell after a courageous battle with
Prostate Cancer.
Robert attended public schools of Union County and was formally employed with Crawford
Logging Company. In addition to his to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers
Curtis, Wilson, & Louis Gory, a nephew Curtis Booker, and a sister-in-law Truelora B. Gory.
Robert enjoyed spending his days being among people and parking his truck at DD’s Mart to
watch the traffic pass by and meeting new people each day.
He leaves precious memories to his loving and devoted family including: his Mrs. Susie T. Gory
of the home, three brothers; Floyd Lee (Willie Mae) Gory of Charlotte, NC, James (Shirley)
Gory & Willie (Mae Lou) of Union, SC; one sister, Ms. Rose Gory of Union, SC; a special
Nephew Joshua Booker, a host of other sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nieces, nephews,
cousins, and friends who were so dear to him.
