Pauline (Polly) Jenkins Thrift, age 80, of Whitmire, SC, passed away peacefully on
July 19, 2022. She was the daughter of the late William M. Jenkins and Annis W.
Jenkins. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Henry Raymond Thrift,
Sr. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Glenn Jenkins and John Jenkins.
Polly was a retired nurse who spent her life caring for others. Her favorite
pastimes were gardening and watching a baseball game, but most of all she loved
spending time with her grandchildren. She was very loved and will be greatly
missed, but we know that she is now “with her people”.
Polly is survived by her children: Donna Thrift Jamerson of Whitmire, SC;
Peggy Thrift Flinchum (Steve) of Ashland, VA; and Hank Thrift (Terri) of Davie, FL;
Her beloved grandchildren: Beau Flinchum (Kenzi), Conner Flinchum, Zack Thrift
(Jessica), Keaton Thrift, Brian Hoyt, and Tina Davis (Bryan); and 8 great
grandchildren: E.J., Easton, Bronson, Summer, Noah, Gianna, Caleb, and Banks.
Polly is also survived by her dearly loved brother, Horace Jenkins of Ninety-Six, SC.
He always looked out for his little sister.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice of Laurens County
for their compassionate care of our mother. We are forever grateful.
Please consider donations in honor of Polly to Hospice of Laurens County, 1304
