Melvin Emzie Smith

Mr. Melvin Emzie Smith, 63, of 109 Foster Chapel Church Rd passed away Wednesday, October

23, 2024, at Spartanburg Hospice Home surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born March 24, 1961, and was the son of the late Emzie Smith and Dorothy Coleman

Smith. He was a native of Jonesville, SC and he attended Union High School. He was a former

employee of Estes Express in Greer, SC. His favorite team was the Green Bay Packers. He

loved his children, grandchildren, and friends.

He leaves behind to cherish fond memories to his wife Mona Smith, three daughters, Tamaya

Eison (Union, SC), Kenyanna Smith (Little, Rock, Arkansas), and Kerrigan Smith (Spartanburg,

SC), and one son, Carter Dawkins-Smith (Moore, SC). Two grandchildren, Jaxtyn Jennings and

Cherish Jeter. Three brothers, Darrell Smith of the home, Norman Mitchell (Barbara) of Union,

SC, Terrence Smith (Katrina) of Duncan, SC, and one sister, Carol Smith of Charlotte, NC. One

Aunt, Mary Gory (Union, SC). Special niece, Tiffany Lyles of Moore, SC, and a host of

nephews, nieces, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday November 1 2024 at 2pm

at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel. Public viewing will be at the funeral home Thursday from

12noon-5pm at the funeral home.
