Mary Jo Moore

Ms. Mary Jo Baker Moore, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, Moo Moo, great grandmother, and friend passed away, January 23, 2023, at SRMC-Union. She was born on November 23, 1944 to the late Marion Coleman and Flossie Cook Baker of Union, South Carolina.  After Mary Jo graduated high school she attended and graduated from Cecil’s School of Business. Mary Jo and Alton adopted two beautiful children, Leslie and Jason and raised them with love and faith in Carlisle, SC.  After Mary Jo retired from Cone Mills (Carlisle Finishing Plant), she worked as a clerk at several convenient stores. 
She was predeceased by a brother, Carl Baker and a sister, Carolyn Bailey.
She leaves behind a Special Friend - Russell Gibson, a brother – Ralph Baker and wife Brenda, sister-in-law Tammy Elliott and husband Richard.  She also leaves behind her children Jason Moore and Leslie Moore  Ackerman, God daughter – Brandi Monroe and husband Chad, her sister Nancy Baker, her grandchildren Kayla Moore, Shayla Trammell, Sara Ackerman, Madison Sirisky-Merrill, William Craine, Trey Jett and Savannah Salway, her great grandchildren Malachi Smith, Skyla Campbell, A’Nylah Smith, Kyngston Davis, our little pea pod Lyla Campbell, nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel, 1247 South Duncan Bypass, Union, South Carolina 29379on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 4:00 pm. Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 4:00 pm prior to the service.
