Luever Wix Obituary

Luever W. Wix age 90, PASSED October 25, 2023

Luever W. Wix was born August 22, 1933, to James and Lenora Williams. She was a native of Hartsville, SC, but became a ‘Union-nite’ upon marriage, July 31, 1955. She was known in her family, as well as the community, as a loving, caring, strong, compassionate woman. She was lovingly referred to in the community as ‘Mother Wix’ and ‘Sister Wix’.

Luever attended & graduated from Denmark Trade School to further her generational skills as a seamstress. Luever was an excellent homemaker and seamstress from a very young age. She watched her mother’s sewing skills so closely that her father watched her take a broom straw and gather the bottom of the bedspread and ‘hem it’ as a toddler.

Luever was employed by Belk department store on Main Street in Union after developing an excellent reputation as a seamstress sewing for her family and community. The Belk department store formed an Alteration Department just to be able to feature her skills in their store.

Her greatest accomplishment in life, and there were many, was the relationship that she formed with the Sovereign of the Universe, Jehovah God, and His Son, Christ Jesus. She studied with Jehovah’s Witnesses and dedicated her life to Jehovah in September 1978. She was a faithful sister to all in the congregation, zealous in sharing her hope with friends and associates in the community. Well known and appreciated, she will be truly missed.

She is survived by her dear, loving husband, caretaker, and friend, Thomas W. Wix; three loving children, Lavastee Trymane Wix (Rochelle), Penelope Sharie Hamilton (Norris), and Benie James Wix (Robin). They shared six beautiful grandchildren, Tiffany Day (Harold), Norris C. Hamilton (Ja’Nina), Jordon Wix (Joysyani), Valerie Hamilton, Jacqueline Allen (LiRon), and Kendall Wix. They also have enjoyed welcoming eight great- grandchildren with one more on the way. She loved and adored them all.

She will be dearly missed by her expansive family of brothers and sisters in the Union Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses where she was loved and cared for fifty plus years. They join us in eagerly awaiting her return when soon ‘God’s Kingdom comes and causes his will to be done on earth as it is in heaven’. (Matthew 6:9)

Her desire was best shared the way the Psalmist said it in Psalm 27:4, ‘One thing I have asked from Jehovah –It is what I will look for- That I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life. To gaze upon the pleasantness of Jehovah and to look with appreciation upon his temple.’
