Kathy Calder, 70, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday December 3, 2025, in Catawba, South Carolina with her loving husband of 31 years by her side. Born on October 1, 1955, in Charleston, South Carolina to Kate Skipper Harris and William Edford Calder. Kathy lived a life marked by independence, strength, and devotion to her family. A proud entrepreneur, Kathy was the owner of DaKa Enterprises along with her husband David. Her work reflected her determination and self-reliance-qualities that defined her throughout her life. She approached both business and life with a fierce sense of purpose and an unwavering commitment to doing things her own way. Kathy's greatest joy came from the love she shared for her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, David Hacker; her mother, Kate Skipper Harris (Chuck); her sister, Miriam Delaine Tamburrino (Vince); her son, Timothy Johnson (Crystal); and her daughter, Carla Johnson. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Sabrina Leavens (Joseph), Miranda Leavens, Jessica Jones (Mike), and Siera Palmer; as well as her absolute pride and joy her great grandbabies: Ava Rose Johnson, Camelia Renee Johnson, Samuel Brittain Thomas, Delilah Charlene Thomas, and Renee Elizabeth Lynn Tuggle. Also, many family and friends that will miss her. Those who knew Kathy will remember her as a strong woman who lived by her own rules and loved fiercely. Her presence left an indelible mark on the lives of those around her. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
