Henry Raymond Thrift

Henry Raymond Thrift, age 81, of Whitmire, SC, passed away peacefully at home on
April 16, 2020. He was the son of the late George Thrift and Maggie Greene
Thrift. Mr. Thrift is survived by his wife of 62 years, Pauline Jenkins Thrift;
his daughters, Donna Thrift Jamerson of Whitmire, SC; Peggy Thrift Flinchum
(Steve) of Ashland, VA; and his son, Hank Thrift (Terri) of Davie, FL; his
beloved grandchildren, Beau Flinchum (Kenzi); Conner Flinchum; Zack Thrift
(Jessica); Keaton Thrift; Brian Hoyt (Johanna); and Tina Davis (Bryan); and 5
great grandchildren: E.J., Easton, Summer, Noah, and Gianna. Mr. Thrift is also
survived by his brother, Edward (Buck) Thrift of Whitmire, SC; and his sister,
Shelby Watts of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to his parents, Mr. Thrift was
predeceased by his sister, Grace Boyter, and his brother, Anderson (Buddy)
Thrift. Mr. Thrift was a Navy veteran who served on the U.S.S. Vogelgesang.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Newberry Oncology, and
Newberry County Memorial Hospital, especially the Oncology department nurses
(April, Katrina and Melanie). No memorial service is planned per Mr. Thrift's
wishes.
