Mrs. Elmira Hammond Walton Richards, 97, of 108 Knuckles Street, widow of Mr. Woodrow Wilson Hammond died Tuesday May 12th 2020 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home. Mrs. Richards was born May 26th 1922 a daughter of the late Virgil and Lula Hughes Walton. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Santuc and a member of the Women's Aide Society and Eastern Star # 23 Queen of Sheba Lodge. Survivors include one son Samuel Hammond (Yvonne) of Union, two sisters Moatha Jones of Greenville, Mamie Walton of Union, seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and a special friend Shirley Minyard. She was predeceased by a son Douglas Hammond. Graveside services will be held Sunday May 17th 2020 at 1pm at Bethesda Baptist Church. The family is at the home of her son Samuel Hammond (Yvonne), 717 Lakeside Drive. Lewis Funeral Home and Crematory has charge of the arrangements. lewisfuneralhomeofunion.com.
