Douglas E Hammond

Mr. Douglas E. Hammond, 65, formerly of 503 Foster Street, Union S.C. died Sunday September 2nd 2018 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home. Mr. Hammond was born April 28th 1953 to the late Betty Jeter, and at a very young age he was taken into the home Mrs. Elmira Richards Hammond and the late Mr. Wilson Hammond where he was raised. Mr. Hammond was married to the late Evelyn Carter Hammond. He raised three children, Ms. Kelly Glenn of Union, Ms. Tulean Johnson of Maryland, and Ms. Teresa Lipscomb of Boston. Also surviving in addition to his children and mother are two brothers Samuel Hammond (Yvonne), of Union, Willie Lee Gaffney of Illinois, four sister Mary Hardy, Betty Jean Jeter, Lorraine Glenn, Barbara Dawkins (Paul) and special grandchildren Ikevious Smith, Carolyn Carter and Sierra Johnson. He was predeceased by two sisters Lula Mae Jeter and Linda Rice. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 8th 2018 at Lewis Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel. The family is at the home of his brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hammond, 713 Lakeside drive.
