Mrs. Daisy Dillard Boyd, 92, of 1873 Tinker Creek Road, widow of Mr. James Boyd, was called to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 29, 2023. She was born on June 6, 1931 to Emma D Keith and Rufus Monroe Dillard in Monterey, Tennessee. She was a loving mother and Grandmother. Daisy had graduated from Monterey High School in Tennessee. She also graduated from a Business Curriculum at Draughn's Business College in Nashville Tennessee. She worked at Carlisle Finishing Plant as the plant insurance officer, and retired there after 36 years of service. She had previously worked in Nashville Tn. at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church and served the Lord as a church clerk, Sunday School Teacher of 4-5 year old's, WMU member, and printed the Church bulletin at First Baptist Church in Carlisle SC for many years. Mrs. Daisy was a dedicated wife to her husband James Carroll Boyd for 64 years before his passing in 2018. Mrs. Daisy was the loving mother of two sons James Randall Boyd (Crystal), Keith Monroe Boyd (Francia), she was proud of her grandsons Michael Boyd, Matthew Boyd (Nicole), great grandsons Sebastian, Jacob, Luke. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Eula Dubose, and a number of nephews and nieces. Mrs. Daisy was predeceased by her six brothers Louis Monroe, Gilford Lee, James Lilburn, Willis Eugene, John Roy, Rufus Edward and two sisters Rubye Mae and Anna Ruth. While living in Carlisle she was a faithful member of Carlisle Baptist Church for many years. After moving to Santuc she became a member of Salem Baptist Church and served the Lord until she became home bound. She continued to read God's word, watch church services, and spent time in prayer every day.
Her funeral service will be held at Salem Baptist Church, 1835 Tinker Creek Rd. Union South Carolina on Saturday September 2, 2023 at 3pm with Pastor Scott Cobb officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm at the church prior to the service on Saturday. Private interment will follow at a later date. In Lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Salem Baptist Church, 1835 Tinker Creek Road. The family would like to especially thank her caregiver Mrs. Kim Gregory for her unwavering care and support. Lewis Funeral Home and Crematory has charge of the arrangements.
