Obituary

Mr. Charles Lee Dixon Jr., 95, of 307 Blackwell Road Blacksburg SC, widower of Mrs. Mrs. Mattie Sue Dixon died Saturday March 25 2023 at Cherokee Medical Center. Mr. Dixon was born April 29 1927 a son of the late Charles Dixon Sr. and Margret Pruitt Dixon. Mr. Dixon was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Blacksburg, a Mason and was a WWII Navy Battle Veteran. He had retired from the Milliken Company was a former fire chief of station 12 in Cherokee County and had a passion for his family, friends and job. Survivors include two sons Billy Dixon, Joe Dixon and two daughters Norma Welch (Terry) and Linda Parker, eleven grandchildren David Parker, Mike Parker, Joe Parker, Jeffery Parker, Andrea Granato, Christopher Dixon, Jessica Dixon, Adam Welch, Michael Dixon, Nathan Dixon, and Kaylyn Dixon, fifteen great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday April 2 2023 at 3pm at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Lewis Funeral Home and Crematory has charge of the arrangements.
