Sharing her story
Mrs. Bertha Mae Departed her life December 31st 2023 At union medical center due to a brief illness, she was the daughter of the late Fleming & Mozell Kirkland-Gossett, “Sister” as she was affectionately known. At an early age, she joined Maple Ridge Baptist Church & started singing on the choir, she was C/O 1968 but furthered her education as a cosmetologist in Jersey City then she returned home and started a new career at the Kohler plant in Spartanburg, SC. She was a people’s person & loved to talk and laugh & also ask u did you want anything to eat. She was just a sweet person and loved to do anything for anyone besides herself. She was a loving mother of 2 daughters, 1 Shirley Renee Gossett-Green whom is deceased, & Karolyn Denise Gossett. Followed by 3 grandchildren, Sareema Bissielou, Drell Smith, & John Gossett & 1 great grandchild Brysen Smith. A Special Friend “James Johnson” of the home. One bother Fleming Gossett Jr of union,3 sisters Shirly (Willie) Eison of Jonesville, Diane Gossett & Karen Gossett Of Union. And a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Brenda L Gossett & Mary Elaine Gossett-Norman.5 brothers David E Gossett, Paul Gossett, Alex Gossett, Douglas Gossett & Kent Gossett.
