Beatrice "Pookie" Bates

Ms. Beatrice Bates, 70 of 119 New Street Union SC passed away Sunday February 1 2026 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Ms. Bates was born May 9 1955 a daughter of the late Jimmy and Helen Hampton Land. Survivors include four daughters Kimberly Walton (Belton), Tracey Land, Nicole Land, Sasha Rice, two sisters Minnie Kershaw, Drucilla Glenn, nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. she was predeceased by five brothers Jimmy Land, James Land, Larry Land, Sylvester Hampton, Robert Hampton, a sister Betty Land and a grandson Darkim Land. Funeral services will be held Friday February 6 2026 at 3pm at Lewis Funeral Home. Public viewing will be held Thursday from 12noon -5pm at the funeral home. The family is at the home 119 New Street Union SC. Lewis Funeral Home and Crematory has charge of the arrangements.
