James Carroll Boyd

James Carroll Boyd was called to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 3rd 2018. James was born on June 6th 1931 to Ethel Virginia and James Rufus Boyd in Winnsboro SC. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. James graduated Mount Zion Institute in Winnsboro in 1951. He then served his country for five and one half years in the US Marines and National Guard. In 1952 James graduated Coyne Electrical Trade School in Chicago Illinois and worked several different jobs until 1959. He then became employed at Carlisle Finishing Plant and retired after 36 years of service. During his retirement he worked part time for Union County for 10 years. James is survived by his wife of 64 years Daisy Catherine Dillard Boyd, two sons James Randall Boyd (Crystal), Keith Monroe Boyd and friend Francia Aderholdt, grandsons Michael Boyd, Matthew Boyd (Nicole), great grandsons Sebastian, Matthew, and Luke. Also two sisters Myrel Traylor, and Eula DuBose (Johnny), and a number of nieces and nephews. While living in Carlisle he was a member of Carlisle Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. After moving to Santuc he became a member of Salem Baptist Church and served the Lord until his illness and became homebound. He continued  to read a chapter of Gods word and spent time in prayer every day. Funeral services will be held at Salem Baptist Church with military honors Thursday December 6th 2018 at 2pm with Pastor Wayne Cooke officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm at the church prior to the service Thursday. Private interment will follow. In Lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Salem Baptist Church, 1835 Tinker Creek Road. The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff at Union medical Center and a special thanks to his caregiver Kim Gregory.
