Grace Farr Lown

– Grace Farr Lown, 99, of Lexington, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at her home.      Born December 31, 1918 in Union County, SC, she was the youngest daughter of the late Richard C. and Ethel P. Inman Farr. She was a 1936 graduate of Kelly Pinckney High School, Kelton, SC and a 1941 graduate of the Columbia Hospital School of Nursing, Columbia, SC.

     Grace was preceded in death by her husband, James Mendel Lown; daughter, Joan Mendelyn Lown Johnson; son-in-law, William Offutt Johnson and son, Luther Lee Lown. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Gussie Mae Farr Comer, Norma Farr, and Virginia Adair Farr and brother, Archie Farr.

     Surviving are her daughter, Martha Lown Roof (Stacey) of Lexington, SC and son, Jay Walter Lown (Vicki) of Due West, SC; daughter-in-law, Teresa Perkins Lown of Lexington, SC, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

     The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church, Jonesville, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church, c/o Eddie Wilson, 1175 Mt. Tabor Church Rd., Jonesville, SC 29353.
